Between confinement and curfew, it is sometimes necessary to slalom to eat in Paris. Where do Estrella Maillet and Philippine Freiman go to lunch when they are in their office on rue du Mont Thabor? The duo, at the head of Talent Developer, delivers some good tips.
One cooks, the other doesn’t. But they are both gourmet and gourmand. The one who knows how to handle pots, pans and stoves is Estrella Maillet. So much so that with the cafés and restaurants closed, she has got into the habit of bringing lunch to the offices of Talent Developer. Chicken breast with lemongrass and gnocchi, home-made paella or chickpea soup are some of the recipes she has recently concocted. But it’s her chicken broth that her accomplice Philippine Freiman loves: “It’s my great pleasure,” she confides. “But it’s sometimes good to stretch your legs a bit, while you go out and buy some click & collect lunch. The favourite address of the Talent Developer duo? Unanimously, it is Maison Plisson. “Especially for its rotisserie, which offers a wide choice of meats, chicken, ribs of pork… without forgetting seasonal vegetables, also roasted”, explains Estrella Maillet. “All this for less than 10 euros per plate, which is always very copious”, adds Philippine Freiman.

From the “poké-bowl street” to the Ritz counter
Among the other “spots” favoured by the Talent Developer tandem, Blend is in a good position for its famous hamburgers. Then, for excellent poke bowls, head for the rue Vignon, renamed “the poké-bowl street” by Philippine Freiman, “because you can find them all along the two side walks! “Finally, during the Christmas holidays, the pair of foodies used to go to the Ritz counter. The Ritz offered a creamy hot chocolate as well as a selection of creations by the pastry chef François Perret for takeaway. Swiss brioche, chocolate crispy bar, chestnut tart or marbled cake were displayed in the shop window. Estrella Maillet and Philippine Freiman went there “at teatime”.
